DANVILLE, IL – Beginning Monday, January 30, 2012, The David S. Palmer Arena will be open from Noon to 1:30 PM for open skating for Adults only. The program is intended as a fitness initiative creating an opportunity for people to come and work out over their lunch hour. “People have been coming and walking at the Arena over their lunch hour for years” states General Manager Peter Blackmon. “We thought it would be a great opportunity if those people would like the option to skate and a great opportunity for the Arena to promote skating. Skating is a dynamic way to exercise. Aside from the cardiovascular work out, it helps with leg strength and tone and balance. You don’t have to build up a sweat either to get a decent work-out; and with the ice, well, you might not anyway.” The program is geared at Adults 18 and Over. The cost for the program is $2 per day which includes skate rental. Of course, walking is still free.
